Restoration Partners appoint Mike Kennedy as Partner

Restoration Partners, the boutique technology merchant bank, is pleased to announce the appointment, as Partner, of experienced venture capitalist and adviser Mike Kennedy.
Mike, who, prior to joining Restoration Partners, spent a decade in the venture capital industry with 3i plc, YFM Group and Electra, has experience of investing in, managing and realising investments in the software, media and consumer sectors. In addition, he has significant C-level advisory experience with active board participation in young technology businesses throughout their life cycle including six realisations.
Mike’s venture capital career is built on a disciplined platform of FTSE100 technology training and operational management gained at Unilever and Marks & Spencer. That formative experience encompassed systems development and implementation of software and infrastructure projects, including the global roll-out of SAP.
Commenting on the appointment, Restoration Partners’ Founder and Chairman, Ken Olisa, OBE, said: “We transform our clients’ technology into wealth. To do that, we need to provide access to deep practical expertise. Mike’s rare combination as a professional IT practitioner and successful venture capitalist is proof positive of what sets us apart in a market filled with generalists. I am very pleased to welcome Mike to the company.”
Mike Kennedy added: “As recent transactions such as Autonomy’s sale to HP and Facebook’s pre-IPO funding have shown, the tech sector is creating wealth at unprecedented levels. It is also happening at speeds so great that young companies don’t have the time to learn by their own mistakes – they need creative and well-connected advisors if they are to attain their dreams. Restoration Partners is one of the best and I am delighted to have found a home for my client-centred skills and experiences as implementer and investor.”
