Ric Piper
Ric Piper met Ken at Cambridge University where he was reading Economics. He went on to qualify as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte after which he held senior finance roles in ICI, Citicorp and Logica.
As Group Finance Director of engineering and design consultancy WS Atkins from 1993 to 2002, Ric was closely involved in its successful IPO in 1996. He cut his IT industry teeth as Senior Independent Director of Synstar from its IPO in 1999 through to its sale to HP in 2004. Since 2003 he has been involved at Board level and has advised on the growth and development of several companies, including various listings on AIM.
His current AIM responsibilities are as Senior NED and Chair of the Audit Committee at Elektron, Matchtech & Turbo Power Systems. He is also Senior NED and Chair of the Audit Committee at main market listed Waterman Group and Chairman of Frontier Resources International.
Ric is a member of the Financial Reporting Review Panel – FRRP – which seeks to ensure that the provision of financial information by public and large private companies complies with relevant accounting requirements. He is also a Public Member of Network Rail.
Ric shares Ken’s interest in ending street homelessness and was a Trustee of Off the Streets and into Work prior to its merger with Crisis.
